| Alfie Kingston - Would? | CD Review by Kevin from Bristol Rocks |
|
If there is a gigging musician in Bristol that doesn't know alfie then I will be surprised. Ever done an open mic night? Alfie does an excellent job of running the Kellaway Arms open mic and has just started at the Old Tavern which I am sure will be a great success. Alfie submitted his single 'I will wait' to Bristol Rocks for review and I must admit that I was surprised when I first heard it. I was expecting something more raw. I will wait is a highly polished melodic pop song with excellent dynamics and more strings and harmonies than you can shake a stick at. |

Regard me is the flip side of the single and this is my personal favourite of the two. This is an anthem like track that would make a great movie theme song. This song would be in the part of the film where the downtrodden lead character is about to change and save the day just in the nick of time, you know the kind of thing I mean.

| The Album - Would? | |
|
First things first!..... 'Would?' is a polished and professionally produced CD. All of the tracks were written by Alfie and recorded at the Dreamcatcher studio's in Bingley. 'Speak a While' is the first track and is as slick as the singles described above, again with BIG string sounds this track is as smooth as a Pole Dancers thighs. |

All of the other tracks are similar, good catchy pop with tight harmonies, tight musical backing and in some cases massive orchestration. But wait! What is going on with track 6? A Gem hidden in a pot of gold! 'She's Scary' Alfie is #kin superb. This track has a hook so sharp that it could penetrate a CHAV's forehead. If you can get this track played on national radio, you will have a hit on your hands. |
| In conclusion, 'Would?' is good. Polished and smooth with a topping of catchy pop. The succulent filling is track 6, 'She's Scary' in which Alfie's song writing talent is highlighted |
