In the autumn of 2001, four experienced musicians got together to form a band with the simple aim of having fun.

The style of music quickly developed into, what could loosely be described as, 'New York' Style Punk/Rock, i.e. fast and simple and mostly in A! (Think "'The Ramones' and 'The Buzzcocks'").

Happily performing covers by various artists (from various genres) in their own inimitable style, the prospect of gigging meant a name had to be chosen. "Bristol Breakout" was chosen simply because they were playing 'Borstal Breakout', by Sham 69, at the time. "Bristol Breakout" fits quite well into the chorus and sums up the style and origins of the band.

Bristol Breakout's ethos is projected in their live performance, proved by the positive reactions of the audience and the sing-along atmosphere at their gigs. It's plain to see that the band and audience enjoy the live experience immensely.
