The Bierkeller is populated by people with unusual dress sense this evening. Extreme goth almost, top hats black suits and skimpy evening dresses make my attire entirely out of place. With the two support acts out of the way the troupe of Emilie Autumn take to the stage which has been decorated with cloth & ribbon to resemble an Victorian Parlour of sorts.

A few songs in to the set and I have to say that this is without a doubt, the most original act that I have ever seen. Emilie and five girls perform a show which is a pure audio visual delight. There is a backing track of original music and a keyboard & cello on stage that the girls in the band take turns to play. When they are not playing, the girls dance around the stage performing a choreographed burlesque routine that is as original as the music.

Emilie’s voice is perfect and I did not notice any ‘off key’ moments and as if that is not enough, she is a skilled keyboard player and a virtuoso violin player. Both myself and Matt the photographer were in awe of what this show achieves and that is something so original that if you are lucky enough to see it, you will never forget the experience.

Take a look at the excellent photographs from Crush images below and visit the Emilie autumn web sites to get a flavour for the show, but you really must get along to see them live if you can. I cannot recommend the Emily Autumn live experience strongly enough.
