Jacanda is the new band
from singer-songwriter Chris Pritchett (Jane Taylor, Lara England, Minerva),
delivering richly layered and touching acoustic songs that blend folk, pop
and even progressive influences. With lush piano, djembe and saxophone
giving Chris' guitar-led songs a deeper and more vibrant texture, the band's
material ranges from intimate laments and sweeping pop to more aggressive
protest music.
Formed in early 2006
from the ashes of Bristol band, Minerva, Jacanda have just released their
first album. A packed launch night in mid-September saw 100 copies sold,
with orders flowing in.
With songs that touch on
love, violence and everything in between, Jacanda is the new name in
acoustic music that really means something.
