Kick off gig at the Horseshoe 11th July 2007 |
| What can I say that I haven't already said about
Jebo in the write ups & reviews that you can read on Bristol Rocks.
Jebo are to my ear the best original band in Bristol and maybe the
best band in the UK. If given the chance, they will be a world
conquering band. |
 |
|
 |
The Horseshoe was packed as well it should be. I
will say it again, 'how can a band like Jebo that should be playing
stadiums, be playing at the #kin' Horseshoe?' Still, I would rather
be there at the front of the Shoe than at the back of a huge
auditorium so it suits me just fine!
I told lead guitarist & song writer Rob Allen that the band had
better be good because I had told everyone that I know to go along.
They did not disappoint, the set consisted of songs from their
excellent CD and a few new tunes. |
|
Rob lost it at one point in the evening when
some muppet asked the band to play something happy. Much to the
amusement of the audience, the muppet was sent away with a flea in
her ear. Jebo are about serious top quality music, if you want the
birdy song than look elsewhere!
The live sound quality was as good as it gets, loud
and perfectly balanced. The band were on top form and James
Hollingsworth, singer & front man was brilliant. |
 |
|
 |
Jebo however are not the product of any individual.
The musicianship of each band member is flawless. A
bass wizard, rhythmic perfection and faultless keyboard playing all add up to rock perfection.
I am not being sycophantic, I really couldn't give a
yellow rubbery #uck what the band thinks of Bristol Rocks but
believe me Jebo
are the business, buy the CD and go watch Bristol's best live. THEN
you will see what I mean. |
