We saw the band once and
instantly decided to book them as our wedding evening
entertainment. We'd seen some other more traditional Barn Dance
bands before the Jellied Reels and weren't too sure about their
suitability for a wedding. However, the Jellied Reels were an
altogether more interesting and different prospect. They're a
traditional Ceilidh band in a lot of ways (called dances,
squeeze-box player, some diddly-diddly tunes) but they have a
totally wicked rock twist, coupled with a marvellous sense of
humour.
The dances are explained in a way that
will even make sense to your inebriated wedding guests (and we had
a few!). The caller is relaxed and humorous and won't make anyone
feel stupid if they get the dances totally wrong (which you
undoubtedly will after a day on the wine...). They're all very
professional and talented musicians who really know their stuff
about playing live and entertaining people. They'll nicely coax
all your guests to get involved and your guests will respond to
them.
In summary, the Jellied Reels are one
of the best ways we've ever come across of getting your wedding
evening entertainment off with a huge bang!! Everybody just loved
it. A Jellied Reels Barn Dance is the ideal ice-breaker to
get guests mingling with each other and being silly!
