Hard working existing 9 piece Original SKA band is seeking a new
Trumpet. You must be confident, reliable, have a huge personality
and the ability to get a crowd going. Shy retiring types need not
apply!
We have existing confirmed bookings in the diary for 2010 and 2011.
The band plays all over the country for festivals, support slots for
international artist and headline gigs of their own.
The existing band line up is keys, bass, guitar x 2, drums,
trombone, sax, percussion vocalist & Trumpet is currently vacant).
We are a hard working band who get on and enjoy what we do. Our
emphasis is, and always will be, about enjoying the performance,
working hard, having fun and more importantly pushing ourselves to
reach our goals of earning our living from this band. The Band
rehearse weekly to ensure that we have regular new material and so
that we are tight as a unit when we perform.
We are looking for a real character who can entertain as well as
play the horn, really enthuse our audience and interact with them.
You must be reliable and able to commit to the band and be
available for gigs as well as the unpaid rehearsals. We require
someone who will be available for the bookings which can be anything
from 40-60 a year currently.
Auditions will be held asap. Songs will be sent to you to learn in
advance giving the key and structure . |

Talented, recently formed rock/funk covers band situated around the Bath
area require a rhythm guitarist with an ability to sing backing vocals to
complete the line up. We play a diverse mix of Chilli Peppers/Stevie
Wonder/Prince/Muse with occasional Bowie/REM Roxy Music tracks thrown in.
Neanderthal 'classic rock' we aint!
We have no age limit but someone with a few miles on the clock (we're all in
our forties) would probably slot in well.
Our aim is to be gigging by the summer, our goal is to be 'not just another
pub band'.
Egotists need not apply, also we prefer enthusiasm over obsession.

I and a freind are currently losely jamming but I am now ready to get much
more serious about music. I am 22 years old and have about seven songs and
are designed to be angry and offensive to imbociles who know nothing of rock
music. My lyrics are intelligent and played with emotion but not at all
soppy, maybe a little self defeating and expressive but also angry and good.
What I need are musicians to develop with that like decent rock music. I am
primarily into metal, grunge, good punk and heavy rock such as Black Label
Society, Metallica, Megadeth, Pearl Jam, Rage, Muse, Clash whatever etc.
amoungst other music.
Let me know if you are interested in forming a band, I have a guitar/bass

We are Sniper, an experienced 4 piece rock covers band
based in Bristol with gigs booked in Bristol and S Wales throughout the
year. We aim to gig twice per month, (we like to have a social life as well)
and practice most Monday evenings at the Linbo 1 studio's in Kingswood,
Bristol. We play music from the Beatles through to Kings of Leon etc. Our
ages range from late 20's to mid 50's but we are happy to take on anybody
regardless of age or sex.
We are looking for a keyboard/synth player, with his/her own equipment and
transport to complement and extend our current set.

We are currently a very experienced, talented trio
comprising guitarist/vocalist, drummer/backing vocalist and bassist, all
in our 40's , who are looking to play primarily our own songs. We have
a lot of material to work on and are based around the Bath/Frome/Midsomer
Norton area. We have all played in many bands previously and have a
great chemistry, but just need that fourth member who can take on most
of the lead vocals and also play some keyboards or guitar when needed to
add texture and colour to our sound.
Initially we plan to record a basic demo, set up
a website and play selected music venues in the Bath/Bristol/Somerset
area. We have good contacts and the aim is to secure some local
festival slots and support slots for signed bands. We are realistic and
all have jobs, but are also serious and passionate about music and want
to achieve as much as we can whilst enjoying playing.
Our influences are varied (Cream, Jeff Beck, Van Halen,
Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Jaco Pastorius, Chick Corea, Tower of Power,
Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, The Who, Rush, to name but a few) with the
general common theme being bands who are creative and can play, whilst
keeping a groove as much as possible.

I'm not bothered if it's a band wanting a guitarist
or just someone who wants to start a band and needs someone to help.
I've been out of bands for too long other than an occasional dep'ing gig
and am missing the live feel. Must've played 100s of gigs over the years
so have all the gear that matters and my own transport. I'm a bit older
than most (in my 50s) but I reckon that age is only a number and I just
want to get together with anyone of any age, gender, etc who wants to
make music like wot I like.
I rate myself as a very competent rhythm guitarist
who can bash out a few reasonable lead breaks, too. I live in East
Bristol and am mainly into rock. I want to do stuff that's accessible
but which other local bands don't do - you know, the sort of stuff that
people will say "hey this is a good number, I haven't heard that in
ages" or "I haven't heard anyone do this one before - it's by ….." Too
many influences really but try Kings of Leon, Muse, John Mayer, Counting
Crows, Bad Company, Mott the Hoople, The Stones, REM, Rory Gallagher,
Tom Petty, Racing Cars, Pink Floyd, Robin Trower, Snow Patrol, The
Verve, Jethro Tull……… I've also written a couple of my own.

keyboard player to expand our line-up and sound. We do well with what we
have at the moment. We are fairly versatile but concentrate on well-known

I don't want to be gigging every weekend! Practise once a week and a gig
once every 2/3 weeks, or whatever, would be cool! I'm 37 and have been
playing on and off for years and have own kit and transport. I'm easy
going, committed and up for a laugh and want to hang out with like minded
people who enjoy 'rocking out' but who aren't trying to become the 'next big
thing'!

Hard working existing 9 piece lively
function band is seeking a new front man/male vocalist. You must be
confident, reliable, have a huge personality and the ability to get a crowd
going. Shy retiring types need not apply!
We have existing confirmed bookings
in the diary for 2010 and 2011. The band plays all over the country for
weddings, corporate events, birthdays, celebrations, launches etc and we are
one of the busiest gigging bands around due to our reputation and
performance.
The type of music played is varied
so you need strong vocals to suit different styles of music. Vocals are
shared with existing female vocalist but we require an effective and strong
male Front Man to introduce the band to interact with the audience and
really get the crowd going. The existing band line up is keys, bass, guitar,
drums, trombone, trumpet, sax and two vocalists (one female/one male – male
vox is currently vacant).
We are a hard working band who get
on really well and enjoy what we do. Our emphasis is, and always will be,
about enjoying the performance, working hard, having fun and more
importantly about ensuring that the client and guests have a great night.
We are extremely reliable and have over 19 years experience of performing
with the age range of band members from 22 to 51. The majority of our work
is from recommendation and the pay for each performance is great!! Some
unpaid rehearsals will be required initially as well as occasional
throughout the year to learn new numbers.
We are looking for a real character
who can entertain and talk to a crowd in between numbers, really enthuse our
audience and interact with them. You must be able to sing! You must be
able and willing to sing many different styles as we get requests for all
sorts of songs. Our set lists are fixed and well rehearsed – we don’t busk
on the night.
In addition, we also go out as a
tribute band and the work for this alone is proving popular for this year.
At a time when many bands are folding due to lack of work we are in the
enviable position of having regular work that is well paid due to our
existing reputation and building up the band over many years. So there is
an opportunity to earn some serious money in 2010 from joining us!
You must be reliable and able to
commit to the band and be available for gigs as well as the unpaid
rehearsals. You will have an existing dep available if you need holiday or
nights off but we require someone who will be available for the majority of
bookings which can be anything from 40-120 a year. The work is well paid,
transport can be provided if necessary as we play all over the country.
Some overnight work will also be required if we have to travel extensively
but you will be compensated for this time. Travel costs are met as are some
refreshments depending on the distance and times of the booking

Reliable committed Drummer sought by quality Indie Blues Rock originals
band, Heavy Plant Crossing, to work alongside our charismatic frontman/Lead
vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist, Keyboardist, Bassist and Lead Guitarist.
The original material is written by existing members and further input may
be positively encouraged from all members to develop a unique signature
sound.
The existing band members are a coalition of like-minded individuals, and
the diversity of members contributions to the overall material, widens the
scope of the material and aids market appeal towards professional/commercial
objectives.
Arrangements are in place for a 3 track EP/Demo (for replicated CD and
online download) to be recorded in a quality central Bristol Recording
Studios (with whom an existing excellent relationship exists), and also the
subsequent 9 track initial Album for independent release/download will be
produced towards either a major label record deal or licensed distribution
agreement. Potential suppliers are in place, etc. New members will be
encouraged to have input into the next Album.
Gigs will be predominantly to promote the Band and it's unique music
(earning through sales) and to build a good following in readiness for a
professional recording deal and extensive touring, etc.
A good deal of the material has been market tested and the market is VERY
receptive. This Band will go places. There has already been major player
industry interest in the material under a working title.
Rehearsals are usually conducted at a location in Portishead or at Studios
in central Bristol to fit schedules of band members, approximately one to
two practises a week and one or two Gigs a month are planned.
The view is towards semi-pro/professional development a.s.a.p. towards a
full-time music career a.s.a.p.
Rehearsals are twice a week on average, we aim to Gig once or twice a month
week on average. Practise sessions are in Portishead/Central Bristol
Studios. You will need transport to get yourself to our Rehearsals, Gigs,
Studio sessions, interviews, etc.
Original members have previously Gigged with a diverse mixture of quality
bands, have/own professional grade equipment, own transport (a prerequisite
of this post) and have professional music objectives.
Availability and commitment is key and members of the band must be able to
transport themselves independently to practises/rehearsals, Gigs, Studios,
meetings, interviews, etc. when necessary and must be able to afford to be a
quality musician, with their own applicable pro standard gear and enough
money to fund rehearsals, demo recording, etc. so some/all of the Gigging
income can be channelled into Recording, Publicity, Distribution, PR,
Promotions, Merchandising, etc.
We do not wish to be tied down by specific endorsements or sponsorship and
will review proposed Record deals individually on their own merits.
Gigs will be at high quality venues, promoted and managed accordingly to
ensure the most positive development of the Band and it's profile.
For example, we intend to Gig at venues of the calibre of the 7,500 capacity
Hand Arena venue in North Somerset, O2 Academy, Colston Hall, in addition to
local intimate Gigs at venues such as Joe Publics, Chicago Rock Cafe,
Campbell's Landing, etc. and work with bands we know here and in the USA. We
will pay to play where it suit us, to give us total control over the event.
Festival Gigs are also desired and anticipated, in addition to Charity
profile building events.
If you are charismatic, competent, confident, committed, hungry and
ambitious, and have your own independent transport, this is for you. No more
wasting time with direction-less, uncommitted, under-funded, under-equipped,
disorganised, unfocused pub bands.
We will be doing a 3 track EP as a Demo and then recording the first 9 track
debut Album for Independent Distribution through the Internet (I-Tunes,
etc.) and CDs for sale at our Gigs and with friendly retailers for income.
Material will then be drawn for the second Album to be promoted alongside
the existing material.
We are seeking to locate the appropriate Management representation
accordingly in due course.

Hi there! A brand new (North Bristol/S Glos-based)
wedding-stylee covers band is being put together from existing and
experienced musicians. What we do have is 4 strong voices sharing lead and
backing duties, a guitarist and a drumsmith, all with extensive gigging,
studio and/or stage experience.
What we do need is a pianist / keyboardist,
and a bassist, ideally not needing to travel TOO far for rehearsals in
Westerleigh (to keep your fuel costs down, and save the planet just a
little bit more), and who would be able to commit.
For the piano stool, the ability to play tunes
ranging from "It's Raining Men" and "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" to Queen,
Journey, Toto via Abba, Donna Summer and Tom Jones is pretty much
essential, hence stressing piano, not merely keys.... and having your own
keyboards & amplification is a given.
Bassist? a similar song range (obviously!) but
the ability to work out your own bass parts, or surf the 'net for tabs, or
play by ear, would be well useful. Your own backline and basses will be
pretty mush essential, plus the ability to drive yourself into the wilds
of S Glos on a regular basis...:)
Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening, and
any audition/meet-up would most likely be on a Wednesday.
To be frank with you, we have had some
interest in-house, as it were, but there are availability issues
Plus, this is not a charity, we will be
looking to take good money from every show we put on.
At this time we are booking gigs from April
next year, and are developing a strong set list and very powerful vocal
arrangements.

According to my mother, I've been singing since before I could talk and, for
the last 25 years, I've been doing the same on stage and in recording
studios, with bands such as The Allnight Chemists, Sane, Hangman and
Twisted. My forte is heavy but melodic rock; my lyrics tend
towards the political. For the last few years, I've become a bit
distracted, singing all over Europe with four Marillion tribute bands, the
best being Misplaced Neighbourhood from Norway (check out YouTube for vids),
as well as coming five minutes from having to deputise for h himself in
front of 3000 fans at Marillion's last convention.
Three years out of the original material scene is too long for me; I want
back in! I'm currently living in Wales but visiting Bristol a couple of
times a week and have places to stay over. I work for myself, so have time
to dedicate to the right project. Yeah, I'm 43, but I don't look it (check
the vids); and I certainly don't feel it. I'm not interested in "Monday
Night Skittles" bands - you know, turn up to the
same practice room every week and forget the same things you did the time
before. If you've got a serious project on the go and are looking for the
right frontman, give me a shout.
P.S. I'm happy to play a bit of rhythm guitar too, as long as I'm not
chained to it for every song!

Additional Guitarist sought by quality Indie Blues Rock originals band,
Heavy Plant Crossing, to work alongside our charismatic front man, lead
vocalist and talented Rhythm Guitarist.
The original material is written by existing members and further input may
be positively encouraged from all members to develop a unique signature
sound.
The existing band members are a coalition of like-minded individuals, and
the diversity of members contributions to the overall material, widens the
scope of the material and aids market appeal towards professional/commercial
objectives.
Arrangements are in place for a 3 track EP/Demo (for replicated CD and
online download) to be recorded in a quality central Bristol Recording
Studios (with whom an existing excellent relationship exists), and also the
subsequent 9 track initial Album for independent release/download will be
produced towards either a major label record deal or licensed distribution
agreement. Potential suppliers are in place, etc. New members will be
encouraged to have input into the next Album.
Gigs will be predominantly to promote the Band and it's unique music
(earning through sales) and to build a good following in readiness for a
professional recording deal and extensive touring, etc.
A good deal of the material has been market tested and the market is VERY
receptive. This Band will go places. There has already been major player
industry interest in the material under a working title.
Rehearsals are usually conducted at a location in Portishead or at Studios
in central Bristol to fit schedules of band members, approximately one to
two practises a week and one or two Gigs a month are planned.
The view is towards semi-pro/professional development a.s.a.p. towards a
full-time music career.
Rehearsals are twice a week on average, we aim to Gig once or twice a month
week on average. Practise sessions are in Portishead/Central Bristol
Studios.
Original members have previously Gigged with a diverse mixture of quality
bands, have/own professional grade equipment, own transport (a prerequisite
of this post) and have professional music objectives.
Availability and commitment is key and members of the band must be able to
transport themselves indepentently to practises/rehearsals, Gigs, Studios,
meetings, interviews, etc. when necessary and must be able to afford to be a
quality musician, with their own applicable pro standard gear and enough
money to fund rehearsals, demo recording, etc. so some/all of the Gigging
income can be channelled into Recording, Publicity, Distribution, PR,
Promotions, Merchandising, etc.
We do not wish to be tied down by specific endorsments or sponsorship and
will review proposed Record deals individually on their own merits.
Gigs will be at high quality venues, promoted and managed accordingly to
ensure the most positive development of the Band and it's profile.
For example, we intend to Gig at venues of the calibre of the 7,500 capacity
Hand Arena venue in North Somerset, O2 Academy, Colston Hall, in addition to
local intimate Gigs at venues such as Joe Publics, Chicago Rock Cafe,
Campbell's Landing, etc. and work with bands we know here and in the USA. We
will pay to play where it suit us, to give us total control over the event.
Festival Gigs are also desired and anticipated, in addition to Charity
profile building events.
If you are charismatic, competent, confident, committed, hungry and
ambitious, and have your own independent transport, this is for you. No more
wasting time with direction-less, uncommitted, under-funded, under-equipped,
disorganised, unfocused pub bands.
We will be doing a 3 track EP as a Demo and then recording the first 9 track
debut Album for Independent Distribution through the Internet (I-Tunes,
etc.) and CDs for sale at our Gigs and with friendly retailers for income.
Material will then be drawn for the second Album to be promoted alongside
the existing material.
We are seeking to locate the appropriate Management representation
accordingly in due course.

Hi, my name's Chris and I'm an ambitious 22 year old guitarist from Bristol.
I'm looking for like minded young, ambitious, dedicated musicians to put
together my own band, (or I'd be interested in joining an existing band),
with a view to playing live and record.
I've been playing guitar for about 10 years, and over that time
have developed a unique and professional style. I own a wide selection
of high quality equipment (guitars, amps and effects) and also have my own
transport. As well as playing guitar, I can also play bass guitar and
trumpet, and dabble with playing keyboards. I also write my own material and
create my own arrangements.
I enjoy listening to and playing a wide array of music, but my biggest
influence is progressive, psychedelic and experimental rock from the
60's/70's. Favourite bands of mine include King Crimson, Captain Beefheart,
Frank Zappa, Genesis, Yes, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath,
as well as modern bands such as The White Stripes/Raconteurs, Muse, etc,
etc.

My name is
Nicci, Im 24 and have been playing bass for 4 years. I was in a band,
playing bass and singing for 2 years. I prefer rock, punk sort of music.
Would prefer playing original music but open to playing a few covers as
well. I have transport and own instruments, no amp as of yet.
My influences
are: Muse, Paramore, Metallica, The Kills, CSS, Polysics, Phill Collins,
Primus, amongst other. A very eclectic mix.
